It’s time for your kids to put on their creativity hat and show us how they repurpose, reuse, upcycle to honor our 🌎

So what does that mean?

Kids can make whatever they want as long as it’s Earth themed. Maybe it’s a frame, sunglasses, a car or a drawing… the sky’s the limit, we ask that they just BE RESOURCEFUL.

Use items typically found in the garbage or recycle cart. Please NO new or raw materials (tape, glue and staples are okay)

Who can participate?

This contest is open to kids between the ages of 5-10 who reside in MDRR’s service areas (Concord, Oakley, Pittsburg, Rio Vista, Discovery Bay along with the county areas of Bay Point and Brentwood).

How will the winners be selected?

This will be a no-contact contest. To enter, photos of the artwork must be submitted via email (more details below).

The public will vote on Facebook from May 1st to May 8th 😊

Our Community Outreach team will select the top most creative and original pieces. Those will then be posted on Facebook for our community to vote on by overall likes with the winners announced on May 11, 2020.

How to enter:

Parents must submit the entry on their child’s behalf.

Photo entries must be submitted via email to recyclingcoordinator@mdrr.com by 6:59 p.m. PST 4/30/2020.

All entries MUST include child’s age, small description of the materials that were reused and a minimum of 2 colored photographs of the completed project, no collages.

You are welcome to send any additional pictures but NO more than 5 pictures. Finished projects cannot be computer generated images (CGI).
