Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery Announces Groundbreaking Partnership with Colgate and Glacier

Pittsburg, CA: September 22, 2025 Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery (MDRR) is excited to announce a significant step forward in recycling innovation through a new strategic partnership with Colgate and Glacier.

Now, using Glacier’s AI-powered cameras, Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery will be able to collect real-time data on toothpaste tubes and other non-toothpaste tubes—like lotion and shampoo—coming through the facility.

“We are excited to partner with Colgate and Glacier,” said Kish Rajan, CEO of Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery. “This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our mission to divert as much material as possible from landfills. By leveraging advanced technology, we can improve our recycling practices and contribute to a greener future.”

Recycle Your Squeeze Tubes – Residential Program Expansion Alert!

Effective September 22, 2025, MDRR’s residential recycling program will officially accept HDPE #2 plastic squeeze tubes in the blue recycling cart.

Lotion, Toothpaste, Sunscreen, and Cosmetic HDPE #2 squeeze tubes now go into the blue!

Before placing them in your cart, please be sure they are:

  • Empty
  • Clean (remove as much residue as possible)
  • Plastic only (no metal or multi-material laminated tubes)

Tubes should be placed loosely in your blue recycling cart, not bagged.

This innovative partnership means that more of the items you use every day can stay out of the landfill and enter a recovery pathway, supporting a cleaner, greener community for everyone.
