Why Recycle Tires?

Tires that end up in landfills can take over 60 years to decompose. During this time, they release harmful chemicals into the environment. Recycling tires greatly improves energy efficiency and helps conserve important resources. It also reduces the emission of greenhouse gases and addresses public health concerns. Improper tire storage can result in water accumulation and create ideal conditions for mosquito breeding. By recycling your tires with us, you can rest assured that you are preventing potential health risks and contributing to environmental sustainability.

What Happens Next?

The tires that are dropped off or collected as special items within our debris box service are separated and sorted by type. The rims are removed if still attached, and then the tires are prepared for shipping to the next phase of their recycling process. Depending on the tire and the partnering manufacturing facility, tires can are transformed into various products. One common use is converting them into rubber bark or mulch. This material proves to be significantly heavier than conventional wood bark, with rubber mulch being approximately 5 times heavier. This quality makes rubber mulch a durable, long-lasting alternative for landscaping and playground surfaces, showcasing a sustainable way to repurpose used tires.
