Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery is teaming up with the City of Pittsburg to sponsor a FREE residential drop-off event at 1300 Loveridge Road, Pittsburg, on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, from 7 AM to 5 PM.

Pittsburg residents with active garbage and recycling service may dispose of unwanted household items at no additional charge — one trip per household. Appointments are required, and space is limited. Please arrive during your reserved time slot.

Valid identification and a recent utility bill are required to confirm residency.

This event is exclusively for the City of Pittsburg’s residential MDRR customers. Commercial businesses are not eligible to participate.

As always, we encourage residents to consider donating usable items to friends, family, or charitable organizations before disposal. Online platforms like Craigslist, FreeCycle, or Facebook Marketplace are also great options to give items a second life.

Due to special handling and processing required by law, MDRR CAN NOT accept the following materials:

• Household hazardous waste

• E-waste, universal waste, or batteries

• Auto parts or boats

• Building or construction materials (e.g., sheetrock, concrete, carpet, flooring, dirt, rock, brick)

• Appliances, microwaves, or AC units

• Treated wood waste or tires

Vehicles carrying these prohibited materials will be turned away.
